The main goal of the meeting was to get to know each other and to agree on basic project issues.
During two days of intense work we planned our next steps, such as in the area of dissemination or organization of the multiplier events.
"We Are Not Alone" (WeNA) Project, coordinated by Ankara Provincial Directorate of National Education and worked together in partnership with Turkey, Hungary, Ireland and Lithuania for two years, had kick-off meeting in Ankara in 19th-20th February, 2019. Within the scope of the project prepared in order to enhance "life satisfaction and subjective well-being" of families of individuals with special needs and developing of their skills in coping with "difficulties of life", a family education program is planned to be prepared and implemented. Within the family education, it is envisaged that family communication, self-acceptance, motivation for the future, future planning, and supporting families in social cohesion. In addition, materials and guidelines prepared in this area will be a guide for experts and trainers working in the field of special education. The meeting started with the opening speech of Mr. Mehmet Çalışkan, Deputy Director of National Education of Ankara. The following timetable were planned as part of the meeting where the project partners introduced their institutions, strategies for working together with partners were identified and content creation process of the intellectual outputs was discussed.
